Jeff Hardy Admits There Is “So Much Guilt & Shame” From AEW Run

Jeff Hardy Issues Statement Following Lengthy Absence From AEW Dynamite

Jeff Hardy has addressed his time in AEW.

First debuting for the company back in March 2022 after the infamous circumstances of his WWE release, which saw Hardy walk out of a house show through the crowd in his final appearance for the company, the former World Champion came to the aid of his brother Matt and reunited the legendary tag team once more on an episode of Dynamite. While things looked promising at first with the brothers becoming one of the most popular acts on TV and giving fans a hit of nostalgia, Jeff Hardy was later arrested for a DUI in June 2022 and sent to rehab, with Tony Khan stating that it was Hardy’s last chance within the company.

Hardy returned in April 2023 and was used much more sparingly until he elected to not sign a new deal and departed the company in June 2024. Wasting little time, Hardy returned to TNA at the Against All Odds pay-per-view the day that his contract expired and once again stood alongside his brother to fend off an attack.

“I Will Not Break TNA’s Trust”: Jeff Hardy

While appearing on Busted Open Radio, Hardy was asked about his goals in TNA. While the 2-time TNA Tag Team Champion is looking to add another reign with the titles before all is said and done, Hardy also admitted there was regret from his time in AEW and that he wants to make things up to his brother, who also saw his momentum halted in All Elite Wrestling:

“Definitely to win the TNA Tag Team Titles. I still have so much guilt and shame from AEW giving me an opportunity, and even Matt, to me breaking trust with my personal issues and real life. I want to make that up to Matt. I will say right here that I will not break TNA’s trust. That is in my past. It feels good to have somewhat of a clean slate with that stuff and start fresh instead of having that guilt and shame about what I did in a certain world of pro wrestling.”
