Jade Cargill is done with AEW.
Following the September 13th episode of AEW Dynamite, it was reported that Jade Cargill is on the brink of leaving the company. At the taping for Rampage which immediately followed Dynamite, Cargill lost clean to Kris Statlander. The match will air on September 15th.
The same report noted that the former TBS Champion is expected to join WWE where she previously had a try-out.
A follow-up report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider has now given an update on Cargill’s AEW contract. Johnson claims that Cargill’s AEW deal is set to expire as soon as this week, and while there were talks of an extension, no agreement was reached.
When her contract expires, Cargill will be free to sign elsewhere and is not currently scheduled to make further appearances for AEW.
The report adds that according to Billy Krotchsen who provided results from Rampage, Cargill looked “teary-eyed” after her match and embraced Statlander in the ring.
There are some who believe that Cargill could be heading to NXT instead of moving straight to WWE’s main roster.
In recent news, it has been reported that Jade Cargill has been removed from the AEW roster page.
When Did Jade Cargill Join AEW?
Jade Cargill began training as a wrestler in 2019 and actually attended a WWE try-out that April. However, she arrived in AEW the following year and was immediately presented as a huge attraction.
Cargill went on to become the first-ever TBS Champion and notched up an undefeated record spanning 60 matches. However, that came to a shuddering halt at Double or Nothing in 2023 when she was pinned by Kris Statlander.
