AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs is already on the road to recovery and has shared an update with the fans.
On April 24th, Hobbs competed in a title match against IWGP Champion Jon Moxley. Charging into the corner, Hobbs hit his knee and rolled to the outside in a lot of pain. With both men rushing to the finish of the match, it was later revealed that Hobbs’ injury was significant and that the former TNT Champion would require surgery.
Providing an update on social media 3 weeks after his operation, Hobbs stated that he had his patellar tendon repaired and was seen in the gym rehabbing his injury.

It is currently unknown when Hobbs will make his return to TV. Unfortunately, Hobbs is the latest former champion to be sidelined with injuries as stars such as MJF, Jamie Hayter and Kenny Omega are all out of action until further notice. Additionally, Eddie Kingston now remains in doubt for the immediate future following the events that took place at a recent NJPW event. Kingston was announced to compete in the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing prior to the injury taking place.
Injured AEW Star Set For Return
Although multiple top stars are sidelined with injuries until further notice, one member of the roster has provided some good news. Appearing in a vignette during a recent broadcast, an AEW star who has been out of action since October 2023 looks set for a return.
In a new update, AEW looks to be expanding its line-up.
Everyone at Inside the Ropes continues to wish Powerhouse Hobbs a full and speedy recovery.
