MJF was back doing MJF things on AEW Dynamite.
In a move that parrels an ex-con trying to go straight after a life of crime, MJF is currently trying to show the world, that he isn’t in fact the devil, and instead simply misunderstood. This has taken the form of an unlikely friendship with Adam Cole, and somehow the pair are holding things together.
However, that doesn’t mean their relationship has been plain sailing. After all, Cole will challenge his friend for the World Championship at All In.
On the August 9th episode of Dynamite, MJF continued his charm offensive, saying that he loved the Midwest, and any video footage showing otherwise had been altered. Cole then picked up the mantle and said he would make history at All In by defeating his friend. This roused something in the champion, and before he had a chance to gather himself, he said that Cole was so skinny, pale, and ghostly white that if it was the 80s Hogan would have snorted him.
The ex-con simply couldn’t resist the opportunity when it presented itself.
Cole quickly shot back that he didn’t want a promo battle and MJF apologised for misreading the situation. Instead, the pair ended up laying down a challenge to Aussie Open for the ROH Tag Team Titles at All In.
The heartwarming moment was then interrupted by Roderick Strong, who The Devil had no time for.
Are Adam Cole and MJF Friends Or Enemies?
The friendship between Adam Cole and MJF is veering between a buddy cop movie and X-Pac trying to convince Kane he wasn’t a monster in the late-90s. Will this end in the pair riding off into the sunset together, or will things explode into firey chaos — tombstone piledrivers are optional — who knows.
