Gunther’s challenger for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series: WarGames has been confirmed.
After Damian Priest triumphed over Seth Rollins, Sheamus, and Dominik Mysterio in a chaotic Fatal Four-Way match on WWE Raw, he earned his rematch with the Austrian-born champion, which will take place at Survivor Series.
On the latest episode of Raw, Priest stepped into the ring to confront the reigning champion. Acknowledging The Ring General’s impressive record, Priest also threw down a challenge, suggesting that Gunther’s dominance has been fading since his recent loss to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel. Gunther seemed irritated by the remark, but before he could respond, his ally Ludwig Kaiser interjected, rushing to the ring and telling Priest he was unworthy to stand before The Ring General.
As Gunther attempted to take the microphone from Kaiser, his right-hand man held firm, declaring he wouldn’t let street trash talk to him like that. The tension boiled over as Priest struck Kaiser with a right hand, sending him over the ropes. With the confrontation escalating, Priest removed his jacket, ready for a fight. The reigning World Champion, however, chose to retreat alongside Kaiser, saving the clash for Survivor Series.
