“Give Me The Correct Amount Of Money” – Former WWE Star Comments On Potential CM Punk Dream Match

With Forbidden Door just around the corner, potential dream matches are a hot topic.

The cross-promotional event featuring stars from NJPW and All Elite Wrestling already has two huge matches confirmed, with Will Ospreay challenging Kenny Omega for the IWGP United States Championship and Bryan Danielson set to clash with Kazuchika Okada for the first time.

With the announcement of CM Punk‘s return, another match fans have been clamouring for over the years looks like a possibility again, although his opponent has now said he’ll only do it if the money’s right.

KENTA wants “the correct amount of money” to face CM Punk

New Japan’s STRONG Openweight Champion, KENTA – once known in WWE as Hideo Itami – has been agitating for a match against Punk for years, with the roots of his animosity coming down to the star having stolen his finishing move, the GTS.

Most recently, the Bullet Club member responded to the return of Punk on the first episode of Collision by saying he is also available on June 17th.

Now the that there seems to be a chance of the bout happening, though, he seems to have had a change of heart, claiming he doesn’t need to have the match if the money isn’t right.

“I don’t really care who’s the original G2S. There is only one truth. If you want me to have match against Punk, Give Me correct amount of money. Other than that I don’t need to have this match. Seriously.”

While there now appears to be less of a chance of Punk and KENTA meeting in the ring, the former AEW World Champion might still meet another Bullet Club member soon.

Recent reports have indicated that an early feud for the star could be Bullet Club Gold’s Jay White, as Punk is said to have taken a liking to the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion’s work.
