Gable Steveson Booed Heavily During WWE In-Ring Debut

Gable Steveson, the Olympic gold medallist, made his much-anticipated in-ring debut at the NXT Great American Bash, but the match ended in chaos and without a clear conclusion.

Steveson’s first opponent was none other than the former King of the Ring, Baron Corbin, who had interrupted The Olympic champion’s announcement about his future on the July 25 episode of NXT. Steveson wasted no time in challenging Corbin to a match at The Great American Bash, setting the stage for an intense showdown.

Steveson and Corbin showcased their respective skills and experience as the match began. Corbin blindsided Steveson to start the action and Steveson showcased some impressive athleticism to take back control.

Corbin went on to dominate most of the action, utilising underhanded tactics to get the best of Steveson. Steveson showed fire as he hit back at Corbin with three overhead belly-to-belly suplexes and then clotheslined Corbin over the top rope, which the Texas crowd responded to with a chorus of boos.

The two then brawled on the outside of the ring as the referee counted to ten, ending the match in a count out. This decision was also met with boos by the crowd.

Undeterred by the official’s decision, Steveson and Corbin refused to let the match end there. They continued their heated battle, even attacking security guards who attempted to intervene.

Steveson unleashed a series of suplexes on the guards before sending Corbin crashing through a ringside barricade with a devastating belly-to-belly suplex. The Olympic gold medallist stood tall, but it was evident that the rivalry between him and Corbin was far from settled.
