The recent AEW Dynamite episode surprisingly featured a returning star.
One of the segments featured for the September 10 episode of AEW Dynamite took place backstage in the catering area. Renee Paquette interviewed The Young Bucks after their $500k tag team match was announced.
Matt and Nick Jackson later joined their fellow AEW stars at the table, but they would continue to be pushed off; even Brandon Cutler didn’t want to share the table with the former Executive Vice Presidents. Jon Moxley later joined the duo at the table to talk about the match.
However, fans noticed something in the background instead: a returning Alan Angels sitting with his former Dark Order faction members Evil Uno, John Silver, and Alex Reynolds. Blake Christian and Lee Johnson were also seated at the table.
This marked the first time Angels appeared on AEW programming again, as his last appearance was on the July 16, 2022, episode of Dark (taped on June 11), before he left the company in the same month and year, following the expiration of his contract.
Alan Angels acknowledged his quiet backstage return by retweeting the segment on X (Twitter) where he shared that he may have mended his relationship with The Dark Order. It’s unknown whether his recent Dynamite appearance is official and permanent.
The Dark Order and I might have made up.”

What Alan Angels Said After Parting Ways With TNA Before Recent AEW Appearance
After Angels departed All Elite Wrestling in 2022, he wrestled for TNA for three years. Through it all, Alan was nothing but classy and appreciative for getting to spend time in Total Nonstop Action.
After rumors began to spread in April that the former All Elite star had left the promotion, he confirmed his free agency on social media. Alan noted that he loves TNA and it was his dream to battle under their banner, noting that he admired their locker room even more.
The former AEW star shared he would start over again, and despite not knowing what’s next, he won’t give up. He said wrestling was his passion, and he couldn’t think of anything else he would rather do.
Finally, he thanked the fans for their endless support of TNA and the program, and his departure from the company wasn’t the end of his career.
