Eddie Kingston is happy that certain wrestlers such as Powerhouse Hobbs and Konosuke Takeshita weren’t in the AEW Continental Classic.
Eddie Kingston is on the brink of becoming a Triple Crown Champion in AEW as he edges closer to the finals of the Continental Classic tournament. In a recent interview with the Battleground Podcast, Kingston reflected on his arduous journey in the tournament, acknowledging the challenges he has faced along the way. However, he also expressed relief that certain formidable opponents, such as Will Hobbs and Takeshita, were not part of the competition.
I’m kinda happy people like Will Hobbs ain’t in [the Continental Classic] because that’s a beast, I’m glad Takeshita ain’t in it because he beat the s**t out of me last time.
Kingston’s path to the finals has been far from easy, enduring intense battles against top-notch competitors. Recalling his bruising encounter with Bryan Danielson, he prepares to face his former friend-turned-rival Jon Moxley on December 30th at Worlds End. Despite wrestling six tournament matches and engaging in numerous Proving Ground matches as the ROH World Champion over the past month, Kingston finds himself heading into Saturday’s showdown with less than optimal physical condition.
During another recent interview, Eddie Kingston admitted that he will only give advice to certain people in AEW.
Which Championships Does Eddie Kingston Hold?
Eddie Kingston is already the reigning ROH World Champion and the NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion. Should he emerge victorious in the Continental Classic, he will add the AEW Continental Championship to his already impressive collection of titles. This triumph would see Kingston become the first AEW Triple Crown Champion.
