Eddie Kingston continues his road to recovery and is looking to be back in action as soon as possible.
On November 27th, the 2024 Continental Classic Tournament officially began and will continue until the end of December at Worlds End. Unfortunately, inaugural winner Kingston will not be participating the second time around as he suffered a torn ACL and broken leg at a New Japan show. The injury occurred when the former Continental Champion landed badly on a guardrail.
Due to the severity of the injuries and multiple surgeries needed, reports indicated that Kingston would be out of action for over a year. An update on Kingston has been provided by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, who reports that Kingston “has been furiously pushing himself through physical therapy” to get cleared as quickly as he can. However, despite Kingston’s best efforts, he is unlikely to be cleared before June 2025 at the earliest.
When asked for a comment, Kingston said the following:
“Health insurance is a scam.”
Eddie Kingston Comments On State Of Pro Wrestling
A lot has changed in All Elite Wrestling since the last time Kingston was on TV. While Kazuchika Okada remains the Continental Champion after defeating Kingston to win the title, The Young Bucks are nowhere to be found and have gone on hiatus until further notice. Additionally, former rival Bryan Danielson has retired from full-time competition and Jon Moxley currently reigns as the World Champion following a hostile takeover. When discussing the state of AEW, Eddie Kingston gave a surprising response.
Everyone at Inside The Ropes continues to wish Eddie Kingston a full and speedy recovery.
