Current Champion Signs New Multi-Year WWE Contract With “Large Money” Increase

Gunther vs. LA Knight at WWE WrestleMania

One of WWE‘s current champions is staying with the company for years to come.

Few stars have seen as quick a rise to popularity as Knight. The former Eli Drake has found favor with fans across the world, and at SummerSlam, he finally got his first taste of WWE gold when he defeated Logan Paul to become the new United States Champion.

Back in September, it was reported that LA Knight and WWE were in talks for a contract extension but that the two sides were far apart when it came to money. According to an update from Fightful Select, that’s changed dramatically.

LA Knight Gets Big Money Increase With New WWE Contract

Fightful Select reports that while the two sides went months without signing a new deal, that changed over the summer. Knight has reportedly now restructured his deal with the company, extending his contract for a number of years. The restructuring also reportedly comes with a large money increase according to Fightful.

Continuing, the report notes that Knight’s original contract ran through early 2025, but he is now committed to the company for years to come and is getting a deserved pay increase as a result.

Back in March, Knight expressed frustrations at having yet to win singles gold since joining the sports entertainment giant. At SummerSlam, he finally got his first taste of gold when he defeated Logan Paul to become the new United States Champion. According to Triple H, Logan Paul was “banged up” following his SummerSlam title loss.

Speaking in an interview after his win, Knight called his United States Championship win “long overdue.”
