Cody Rhodes is set to tangle with an unlikely rival at Money In The Bank in London, England.
While the American Nightmare has been feuding with Brock Lesnar since the night after WrestleMania 39, he’s now found himself involved in a surprising side quest.
On the June 5th episode of Raw, Rhodes appeared on Miz TV and ended up being confronted by Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley. The segment ended with Mysterio slapping Rhodes before hiding behind Ripley.
Fast forward seven days and Rhodes interrupted Mysterio and Ripley’s championship celebration immediately laying down a challenge to face Mysterio at Money In The Bank. Ripley quickly accepted on “Dom-Dom’s” behalf and the match was later made official. Mysterio got in another quick cheap shot, but Rhodes was still able to defeat The Miz.
Cody Rhodes Still On Course For Violent Clash With Brock Lesnar
Although Cody Rhodes will be in action at Money In The Bank, his rivalry with Brock Lesnar is far from over. The American Nightmare has repeatedly challenged The Beast to fight him one more time, and it is believed that the pair will meet at SummerSlam in Detroit.
Furthermore, it has been reported that they could square off in a Bullrope Match, a match made famous by Cody’s father, the legendary American Dream, Dusty Rhodes. However, no final decision has been made and other options remain on the table.
Lesnar isn’t scheduled to be back on WWE television until early July.
