CM Punk Would Be Welcomed Back In WWE By Shawn Michaels

CM Punk Could Have A One Year Non Compete Clause

CM Punk at least has one major supporter if he actually does potentially return to WWE.

Shawn Michaels is getting ready for a big weekend ahead with NXT No Mercy taking place and The Heartbreak Kid took the lead on a media call on September 28 to promote the event. Nick Hausman of Haus Of Wrestling asked the WWE Hall of Famer if he would welcome CM Punk over to NXT.

“Of course we’d welcome CM Punk in NXT.”

Michaels went on to say that he always got the presentation of CM Punk and that he always had positive experiences with him. He also added that he and Punk probably share a lot of personality traits with one another.

Would CM Punk Go To WWE NXT?

While CM Punk making his way to the Capitol Wrestling Center for NXT would blow plenty of wrestling fans’ minds, Michaels did say if Punk were to come back to the company, he’d most likely want to go to the main roster. However, Michaels is confident in the NXT brand, comparing it to the Attitude Era also on the call.

Punk was infamously fired from AEW following the notorious backstage incident between himself and Jack Perry at AEW All In weekend, but of course, speculation began that the former WWE Champion could be making his way back to WWE.

A recent report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer said that while CM Punk is a major name in wrestling, not everyone in WWE management would be in favor of bringing Punk back into the fold. One of Shawn Michaels’ best friends, Kevin Nash, predicted on his podcast that WWE wouldn’t go after Punk due to his physical actions backstage in AEW.

Meanwhile, some fans believe WWE has already begun to reference CM Punk on Raw.
