Chelsea Green Reflects On WWE Return, Compares To First Run In The Company

Chelsea Green

Chelsea Green opened up about returning to WWE and what’s different this time around.

In April of 2021, Chelsea Green was released from WWE alongside names like Samoa Joe, Billie Kay, and Bo Dallas. Green made her return to the sports entertainment giant at the 2023 Royal Rumble, and has since gone on to become a Women’s Tag Team Champion with both Sonya Deville and Piper Niven.

Speaking in a new interview with Gorilla Position, Green indicated that her current run with the company is everything she ever wanted.

“I feel like this is everything I wanted the first go around. And, you know, when they say ‘everything happens for a reason,’ I truly feel like I’m living that. There was a reason that I got released, and then I went out and explored every avenue of the indies. I came back, and now I’m doing exactly what I want.

Look at it—it’s like, when you give someone the freedom and the platform to express themselves properly like I’ve been given right now, that’s when success happens.”

Chelsea Green Committed To Staying With Piper Niven In WWE

Elsewhere in the interview, Chelsea Green was asked if she’d consider facing off against current tag team partner in a championship feud. The star made it clear that she has no interest in splitting up their team, and she’d rather focus on another run with the Women’s Tag Team Championship.

“I don’t know about that. I think we’re going to stick together—we’re going to become two-time, maybe even three-time Tag Team Champions. Then we’ll go on, and we’ll really clean house.”

However, Green isn’t against the possibility of reigning as co-Women’s Champions in the same way LayCool did in the past.

“We were hoping for that, you know. It’ll come—we’re manifesting 2025. Good things come to those who wait.”
