A health update has been provided on Bryan Danielson following his AEW World Title loss to Jon Moxley at AEW WrestleDream.
After the match, Bryan Danielson faced further trouble as the Blackpool Combat Club attempted to attack him. While Wheeler Yuta and Darby Allin initially intervened, Yuta shockingly turned on both Allin and Danielson. Under orders from Moxley, Yuta reluctantly used a plastic bag to suffocate Danielson, leaving fans concerned about his condition. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided an update on Danielson’s health, particularly his ongoing neck issues. Meltzer wrote:
As far as what happens with Danielson involves the state of his neck. He is going to have an MRI done to see the damage. He had an MRI done not too long ago and it showed damage all the way down his neck.
The next steps for Danielson will depend on the results of this MRI, as doctors will be assessing whether the damage has worsened or remained the same. Meltzer continued:
What happens next depends on if the level of damage is the same as it was or if it has worsened, and if not, by how much.
The hope is that Danielson can avoid surgery and recover with stem cell therapy. However, if the damage is too severe, surgery may be required. Meltzer added:
The hope is that he won’t need surgery and can heal up strong enough with stem cell treatment therapy. But if not, he’ll have to undergo surgery.
As for Danielson’s future in the ring, it remains uncertain. His return will depend on how well he responds to treatment.
