In recent weeks, Lacey Evans has caused controversy for wearing ring gear reminiscent of WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter.
The star’s appearance angered Slaughter’s daughter, who said it was “not ok,” and asked, “who the f*ck does she think she is?”
Evans later responded to the comments reminding people that, unlike Slaughter, she has a military background, having served in the United States Marines before training as a wrestler.
Someone else who has taken issue with Evans’ appearance is Booker T, although for very different reasons.

Booker T thinks Lacey Evans’ new character is taking away from her “assets”
On the latest episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, while discussing Evans’ new gear, the Six-time World Champion said that he tells female trainees to “never lose their sex appeal.”
“One thing that I always say about my female wrestlers, I always tell them, ‘Never lose your femininity. Never lose your sex appeal.'”
“Men, they come to see you wrestle, but more importantly they come to see you.”
In Evans’ case, he believes her new look could take away from “a lot of her assets.”
Lacey Evans playing a military character is taking away from a lot of assets that she [has] that she could actually use.”
Apart from the gear itself, Booker just doesn’t see the type of character Evans is portraying is needed in the current climate, explaining that top stars who are seen as “real people” are having a lot of success.
“I just don’t think, where the world is right now, we’re gonna need a savior like Sgt. Slaughter coming in to save America.”
“We see the characters that get over, you know? The Rhea Ripleys. The Charlotte Flairs. The Bianca Belairs. Just real people.
“They’re just coming out and making you feel a certain way when you see them walk out [of] that curtain.”
