Big E hasn’t forgotten how he got to the “big dance” in WWE and made sure Dolph Ziggler was aware of it.
Dolph Ziggler was one of the many talented namess released by WWE on September 21, and the “Show Off” sure had his fair share of influence during his near 20-year run with the company. One of those names was Big E, who found himself to have his first run on the main roster as the “heavy” for Ziggler and former WWE Star, AJ Lee. The three together formed a memorable trio and put the eventual New Day member in a good position to learn the ropes of WWE Raw and SmackDown being with a seasoned veteran of the ring like Dolph.
Following the news of his release, Big E took to social media to thank Ziggler for all that he’s done for him.
“I was so immensely fortunate to start my time on the main roster next to Dolph Ziggler. I learned so many lessons about this craft by watching and listening. One of the smoothest workers I’ve ever been in the ring with. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me, Zig Man.”

Dolph Ziggler & Big E Actually Have An Interesting Connection Together
Although it’s unfortunate Ziggler is gone from WWE, he did end up indirectly making a further connection with Big E in one of his final major runs with the company. Ziggler found himself in NXT and ended up becoming the NXT Champion while there. Serendipituously enough, Big E became one of the biggest NXT Champions of all time before being called up to join Ziggler on the main roster.
