Becky Lynch Gets Match With Trish Stratus - But Not At SummerSlam

After weeks of anticipation, it has been announced that the highly-anticipated match between Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus will not be taking place at WWE SummerSlam.

Instead, the match has been scheduled for an episode of Raw on August 14th. The decision was revealed during the July 31st episode of Raw, leaving fans both disappointed and excited for what’s to come.

The rematch between Lynch and Stratus is set to take place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Lynch earned her shot at a rematch with Stratus by defeating Zoey Stark on last week’s episode of Raw.

However, their rematch technically already happened on this week’s episode, but it was short-lived, as Stark immediately interfered, causing a disqualification and robbing fans of a definitive conclusion.

In a backstage segment following the match, Adam Pearce, the on-screen authority figure, made the decision to schedule another rematch for August 14th, with Stark banned from ringside.

After the segment on Raw, WWE posted a video on Twitter, showing Lynch throwing Stratus’ merch on the floor while stating that Trish has “only come back for a payday” and “doesn’t want to fight”.

In a follow-up report by Fightful Select, the reason why the match is not taking place at SummerSlam has been revealed.

When Did Becky Lynch And Trish Stratus First Wrestle Each Other?

Lynch and Stratus first clashed at Night of Champions on May 27th in Saudi Arabia, where Stratus emerged victorious with the help of Zoey Stark. Their rivalry continued through July’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view and in subsequent episodes of Raw.

The feud between the two superstars began on the April 10th episode of Raw when Stratus turned heel on Lynch. Prior to this, the pair teamed together in a match against Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan which they lost, where Stratus stood in for an injured Lita to defend the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
