Bayley opened up about being there for Mercedes Mone‘s debut in All Elite Wrestling.

The beginning of the Big Business edition of AEW Dynamite on March 13th saw Mercedes Mone make her long-awaited debut in All Elite Wrestling. The star cut an impassioned promo about wanting to help build wrestling on a global level and said she’d found her home in AEW.

Mone’s former tag team partners Bayley, Naomi, and Tamina were in attendance for her big moment, and speaking in a new interview with Digital Spy, the WWE star opened up about being able to support her friend.

“[Mercedes] is the best, I wouldn’t be here without her. She’s done so much for me. Even after she was done with WWE, she’s been there for me in my big moments. So I know I need to be there for her continuously throughout the years.

“It was incredible, I’m just happy that she was on a Wednesday where I’m like, ‘alright, I can actually make a Wednesday, that’s one of our few days off.'”

Bayley also says Mercedes Mone “deserved” to have Big Business built around her for her debut, explaining that The CEO makes wrestling “special.”

Continuing, The Role Model explained that while it’s bittersweet that she and Mone are in different companies, she’s incredibly proud of what her friend has been able to accomplish.

“It was really special to see her celebrate with her family and her friends and people she started wrestling with and see her welcomed by a new family. It’s bittersweet, but I’m very, very proud of her and just so grateful we got to be there.”

A recent report indicates why Mone chose to sign with AEW instead of returning to WWE. AEW President Tony Khan has been full of praise for Mone since her debut, even saying she’s perfect to be the face of the company.

In other AEW news, the date and location for Double or Nothing has been confirmed.
