A new report details more care being taken with Ring of Honor in the immediate future.
Back in May, AEW announced that they would be taking up residency inside Esports Stadium in Arlington, TX for Collision tapings beginning in late July. The initial press release revealed that ROH: Death Before Dishonor would take place in the same venue, and Ring of Honor has since announced that bulk television tapings will also be taking place during the residency.
Tony Khan has faced criticism for his booking since purchasing ROH, and Eric Bischoff has gone so far as to say the company should be shut down.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, however, ROH fans can expect more care to be taken with the promotion soon, at least in the short term. The report notes that the Arlington residency could be seen as a turning point for the promotion as ROH will be getting dedicated tapings instead of television being taped at the same time as Dynamite and Collision.
With multiple shows being taped at the same time, Fightful notes that fans can expect more creative consistency in the brand’s storylines.
Furthermore, the report notes that MxM (formerly Maximum Male Models in WWE) are signed exclusively to ROH deals as of now, and the brand’s champions are expected to make more appearances on their television in the upcoming tapings.
When Did Tony Khan Purchase Ring Of Honor?
AEW President Tony Khan announced that he had purchased Ring of Honor back in March of 2022 after the brand had gone on hiatus the previous October. At the time, it was reported that Khan planned to use ROH as a developmental system similar to WWE NXT.
