AEW star Adam Copeland is now an Emmy-nominated actor!
Back in October of 2022, it was reported that Adam Copeland was added to the cast of the Disney+ Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Based on a novel series by Rick Riordan, the show follows the adventures of Percy Jackson, a boy who learns that he is the son of the Greek god Poseidon who was abandoned by his father in an effort to keep him safe. After discovering his identity, he must embark on a quest alongside two new friends to prevent war among the Olympian gods.
The show premiered on Disney+ on December 19th, 2023, and Copeland made his first appearance as Ares in episode 5 on January 9th.
Now, Deadline reports that Copeland has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Preschool, Children’s, or Young Teen Program at the Children & Family Emmy Awards, set to be held on March 15th in Los Angeles. The late Lance Reddick, who played Zeus in season one of Percy Jackson, is nominated in the same category. Percy Jackson & The Olympians is also nominated for Best Teen Series.
Adam Copeland Returns As Ares In Percy Jackson Season 2
Adam Copeland has been out of action since suffering an injury at Double or Nothing back in May. In late November, it was reported that Copeland is officially cleared to return to the ring, but his return to AEW is delayed as he is in the middle of filming the second season of Percy Jackson. Filming is set to wrap in January and no official premiere date has been announced as of this writing.
