WWE Hall of Famer Edge is set to feature in the new Disney+ Percy Jackson series!
In addition to a WWE Hall of Fame career in the WWE, Edge has amassed a number of acting credits, starring in movies like Money Plane as well as having recurring roles in both Syfy’s Haven and the History Channel’s Vikings.
Now, according to a new report from Variety, the real life Adam Copeland is set for another featured role in a television series, this time in the upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians series on Disney+.
Based on a novel series by Rick Riordan, the show will follow the adventures of a boy who learns that he is the son of the Greek god Poseidon who was abandoned by his father in an effort to keep him safe from those who would do him harm. After discovering his identity, he must embark on a quest to prevent war among the Olympian gods.
Copeland is set to play the role of Ares, the god of War who is described as “handsome in a wicked way and arrogant, despite not always being the sharpest tool in the shed. He loves conflict and acts as an agent of chaos wherever he goes.” The series is currently filming and set to be released on Disney+ in 2024.
As far as his WWE pursuits go, Edge recently lost an I Quit match to Finn Balor at Extreme Rules on October 8th. While no amount of physical damage could force him to say the dreaded words, Beth Phoenix was attacked by Rhea Ripley as she tried to save her husband from harm, and he quit in order to protect her from being the recipient of a con-chair-to. However, despite him giving in, Rhea Ripley hit Phoenix with the move anyway, and Edge has not been seen on WWE television since.
