AEW Star Wheeler Yuta will not be a part of a major international event.
With CMLL stars making appearances on episodes of Dynamite and targeting The Blackpool Combat Club, Yuta, Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli were announced for the Viernes Espectacular event on March 29th to take on Mistico, Volador Jr, Blue Panther, & Ultimo Guerrero at the event in Mexico City. However, a recent update has confirmed that there has been a change to the line-up.
Posted on CMLL’s social media, All Elite Wrestling sent a letter to the promotion informing them that Yuta is not cleared to compete or travel and will not be participating at the international event:
Dear CMLL;
This letter is to inform you that WHEELER YUTA is not medically cleared for travel or any in ring activities at this time and will not be able to participate in your upcoming event. I have obtained authorization from Wheeler Yuta to share this information to CMLL and all involved. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. If you have any questions that I may be able to answer, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Matt Sydal has been announced as the replacement for the Blackpool Combat Club member. No further details have been provided in regard to the nature of Yuta’s injury.
When Did Wheeler Yuta Last Compete On AEW TV?
The current ROH Pure Champion last competed on the January 10th episode of Rampage that took place in AEW’s spiritual home of Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida. Yuta unsuccessfully challenged Eddie Kingston for the Continental Crown on the show.
