There are several current and future WWE Hall Of Famers under the AEW umbrella, and the company wanted to make a play for one particular two-time inductee.

According to a new report from Haus Of Wrestling, AEW pitched the idea to Sean Waltman about coming into the company. No details were given regarding how Waltman would be utilized, the word is that the former DX and NWO member didn’t want to do just a “one-off” if he were to be used.

Waltman Has Several Friends Involved In AEW

With a resume like Waltman has, the Hall of Famer sure has his fair share of relationships in the industry so plenty of his friends and colleagues are currentlty apart of the massive AEW roster. One of those names is fellow Degeneration-X member Billy Gunn, who has found a great deal of success as “Daddy Ass.” In a recent conversation with Sportskeeda, Gunn discussed the possibility of Waltman coming into the All Elite fold. Gunn believes that AEW made a play for X-Pac on several occassions.

“I think he would be a great asset because he still has huge popularity, everybody knows him, and he’s such a good guy that he would not only help the younger talent as well as be a good representative for our company. He’d be amazing if we could get him in here.”

Waltman is currently recovering from a torn bicep injury, but before that, the former 1-2-3 Kid made his return to the ring with GCW as he faced Joey Janela in singles action.
