It was AEW Dynamite featuring Sting & Darby Allin challenging Ricky Starks & Big Bill for the AEW Tag Team Titles.

This episode took place at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The announcers were Excalibur, Taz and Tony Schiavone.

Match #1: Swerve Strickland vs. “Hangman” Adam Page ended in a Time Limit Draw after 30 minutes. Swerve hit a JML Driver, the referee counted to two and the bell rang due to the match reaching 30 minutes.

Post match, Swerve Strickland said he wanted five more minutes. Page said that Swerve couldn’t beat him in 30 minutes and Page had no interest in going five more minutes. Tony Schiavone stood up on commentary with a microphone. Tony said he heard from Tony Khan and we now have two number one contenders. At Revolution, it will be Samoa Joe defending the AEW World Title against Page and Strickland. Page was shouting that Swerve didn’t beat him while Swerve was smiling.

Samoa Joe, the AEW World Champion, was asked by Renee Paquette for his reaction. Joe said that this was a draw and none of those men deserved to be in this match. Joe said that despite your best efforts, come Revolution, he’ll walk out as the AEW World Champion. Joe said it’s a shame that both opponents will suffer because of it.

Match #2: “Timeless” Toni Storm (w/Luther & Mariah May) defeated Red Velvet by submission. Storm used an Ankle Lock and Velvet tapped out. Deonna Purrazzo was on commentary.

After the match, Deonna Purrazzo got into the ring to have a staredown with Storm, who blew kisses on Deonna’s cheek. Storm left.

Match #3: Blackpool Combat Club – Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli defeated Hechicero, Volador Jr. & Mascara Dorada. BCC won when Claudio hit a low blow while the referee wasn’t looking and Claudio covered to get the win.

There was a video shown of Undisputed Kingdome beating up Chuck Taylor backstage. Adam Cole in a wheelchair told Chuck to “get well soon.” Cole smiled about it.

Tony Khan made a major announcement that the Wednesday, March 13th episode of AEW Dynamite will be called Big Business live from Boston. A Mercedes Mone reference is in the graphic because it says “Bo$$ton” on the left side of the Big Business Logo and she is from Boston. Mone was known as “The Boss” In WWE so obviously it’s a reference to her. Khan did not announce any specific wrestlers debuting at the show.

Recently it was revealed that the AEW dressing room morale is significantly improved.

Match #4: Konosuke Takeshita (w/Don Callis) defeated Chris Jericho by submission. Jericho had the Walls of Jericho on Takeshita, but Don Callis threw a chair into the ring and while the referee got rid of the chair, Callis hit Jericho in the head with a screwdriver. Takeshita applied the Walls of Jericho and Jericho’s arm dropped twice, but Jericho fought it. Takeshita sat back in the Walls/Liontamer leading to Jericho tapping out.

Match #5:Sting & Darby Allin defeated Ricky Starks to win the AEW Tag Team Championships in a Tornado Tag Team Match. Allin sent Bill through a table at ringside, so they were out on the floor for the finish. Sting kicked out of a Spear by Stark late in the match. Sting hit a Scorpion Death Drop for the pinfall win on Stark.

Sting & Allin winning the AEW Tag Team Titles is Sting’s first title win in AEW. Excalibur mentioned that it was Sting’s 25th championship win in pro wrestling.

After the match, The Young Bucks duo of Matthew & Nicholas Jackson attacked Sting, Allin and Sting’s two adult sons. The Young Bucks were wearing white suits as they bloodied Allin so that Allin’s blood was all over their white suits. The Young Bucks posed with the AEW Tag Team Titles and threw them onto Sting. That was the end of the show.

According to a new report, Sting would originally go against a recent creative decision.
