Adam Cole Wants Definitive Conclusion To AEW Rivalry

AEW Star Adam Cole Clarifies Prior Rumour

Weeks after his return, Adam Cole is still far from finding closure to this iconic AEW rivalry.

Last year, AEW developed a strong brotherhood between Adam Cole and MJF, only to have the former stab MJF during his World Championship match against Samoa Joe at the Worlds End PPV.

Cole was revealed to be the Devil in the storyline as the promotion continued the feud. However, injuries derailed the rivalry and halted the progress. At Double or Nothing, fans saw MJF return and sideline Cole with an attack.

A few months later, Cole completely recovered from his ankle injury and returned as a babyface and took down a now-heel MJF. Currently involved in a feud with him, Cole recently commented on their rivalry before the former World Champion’s match against Roderick Strong at Full Gear.

Speaking on The Danny Ocean Show, Cole commented on being involved in a feud with his former ally immediately after his return.

I think truth be told, when you look back at that six months that me and MJF had and the chemistry that we had, in a lot of ways, we kind of caught lightning in a bottle to the point where it did main event All In, which was really cool, and the unfortunate injury that happened, I just feel that the story that me and MJF told needs a definitive conclusion. I feel like it’s fair to the angle, it’s fair to the program that, coming back from injury, that’s exactly what I’m hopping into.

Of course, you want to make as many people happy as possible. Then sometimes too with stories, it takes a little bit to get back to where you were because a lot of the stuff that we did was very slow-burn. So I’m confident in what we’re gonna bring to the table, I’m confident in what we’re gonna do, and I do think that us continuing this story with me coming back from injury was the right call, I do”

Looking forward to a definitive conclusion, Cole is yet to have his match against ‘The Salt of the Earth’. At Full Gear, MJF defeated Strong and seemingly broke his arm with violent attacks on his limbs.

As the feud seems to continue, fans wonder when the two former best friends will face each other inside the squared circle.

Adam Cole Wants To Recreate This WWE Rivalry In AEW

Back during his time in WWE, Cole was heavily involved in a feud with Ricochet in NXT for the North American Championship. With both the stalwarts now on the Jacksonville-based promotion, Adam Cole recently shared his desire to re-run that feud. Speaking to 3NT Wrestling, he commented,

I would love it too (another match against Ricochet). Again, Ricochet is one of my favorite opponents. He’s a superhero. He’s just unbelievable; the things that he can do. So I’m so excited that he’s here in AEW and I don’t see any reason why at some point down the line, we can’t do Adam Cole versus Ricochet two in AEW now. I hope so. Me too, me too.”
