Inside The Ropes takes a look at the confirmed WWE 2K22 roster and their ratings ahead of the games highly anticipated release on Friday, 11 March , 2022!
WWE 2K22 marks 2K’s return to a yearly video game release for Vince McMahon’s sports entertainment giant, following their break in 2020 and 2021 while they amended any niggling issues made during the creation of WWE 2K20. 2K Battlegrounds was, however, released during this time, taking on a more arcade-like feeling than WWE’s usual video games.
WWE 2K22’s roster currently consists of 152 characters according to The SmackDown Hotel. New additions to the roster so far include Austin Theory, Damian Priest, and GUNTER, with Machine Gun Kelly, the Executive Soundtrack Producer for the game, also confirmed to be a DLC character.

Despite her role as a regular roster member, Ronda Rousey will reportedly only be available in WWE 2K22 as downloadable content.
WWE 2K22 will release on Friday, 11 March (Tuesday, 8 March for early access), with great anticipation in the air for its arrival. Though a full roster reveal, both main disc and downloadable, is yet to be confirmed, Ronda Rousey is rumoured to be part of one of the game’s last DLC packs.
Michael Straw of Sports Gamer Online reported as such, with one source explaining why she wasn’t able to be included on the game’s main roster:
“2K wanted her on the main roster, but there wasn’t any certainty of her return.”
The 2022 women’s Royal Rumble winner made her WWE video games debut with WWE 2K19, where she was the pre-order bonus alongside Rey Mysterio. Alongside appearances in the infamous WWE 2K20 and WWE 2K Battlegrounds, Rousey will have amassed four appearances should she be included in this game.
