Zelina Vega is reportedly heading back to WWE.
Vega was originally released by the company back in November 2020 following a disagreement over talents using third-part platforms such as Twitch.
As reported by Fightful Select, Thea Trinidad known as Zelina Vega in WWE, has been spotted at the WWE Performance Center. The report notes that Trinidad wasn’t just visiting, and her appearance was being filmed. Adding that although the exact nature of her appearance isn’t known, the plan appears to be for her to return to WWE.
“We’re working to learn the context of Zelina’s appearance at the WWE PC, but have been told the working plan is for her to return to the company.”
Just prior to Vega’s release, her husband Aleister Black stopped being featured on WWE television. Black wrestled his last match on the October 12th edition of Monday Night RAW, being defeated by Kevin Owens.
However, Black is also seemingly on the road back to TV with vignettes airing on SmackDown teasing his return. Meanwhile, the former NXT Champion recently posted on social media touting his body transformation which has seen him drop from a “depressed” 217lbs to a fighting 196lbs.
Zelina Vega arrived in WWE in the summer of 2017 where she quickly joined forces with Andrade “Cien” Almas in NXT.
The pair continued to be featured together for the next three years. In the weeks leading up to her departure Vega appeared to cut ties with Andrade and her other client at the time Angel Garza. This had led to Vega appearing more regularly in the women’s division, where she unsuccessfully challenged Asuka for the RAW Women’s Championship.
Vega’s last match in WWE was a Triple Threat Match on SmackDown where she was defeated by Ruby Riott and Natalya in just over three minutes.
