New Japan’s Zack Sabre Jr. has humorously handed Will Ospreay a new moniker, comparing him to ex-Premier League midfielder Jamie Redknapp.
‘The Technical Wizard’ is a man of many nicknames himself, but he’s now enthusiastically handed several new monikers to Will Ospreay.
During a post-match interview following a non-tournament G1 Climax outing, Sabre Jr. poked fun at Ospreay’s nickname of ‘The Commonwealth Kingpin’. Listing his other names, the two-time New Japan Cup winner gave Will Ospreay some new additions:
“What’s he now? What’s his new nickname? ‘The Commonwealth Kingpin’? ‘Commonwealth Kingpin’. Well, the Commonwealth is gonna exist for about another f*cking ten years, so you can have that one, mate. But, that’s not your only nickname, is it, Billy boy? Eh? You’ve got loads of nicknames, go on, pipe up.
‘Billy The W*nker’. ‘Billy No-Brains’. ‘Sh*t For Brains’. ‘Sh*thead’. ‘Your Mum’s Sh*t’. ‘Harold Sh*tman’. Bloody, ‘Jamie Redknapp’. I could go on, alright, you get the gist. He’s got lots of nicknames.”

Jamie Redknapp first competed for the Premier League in the 1992-1993 season, playing for Liverpool. Redknapp played in the League every season until 2005, later joining Tottenham Hotspur for three seasons, and Southampton for his final season, while also playing in the England National Team between 1995 and 1999.
According to records, Zack Sabre Jr. and Will Ospreay have shared the ring on 40 occasions, colliding as recently as 24 July when Ospreay’s United Empire defeated Zack’s Suzuki-gun. Zack Sabre Jr. also defeated Will on his way to winning this year’s New Japan Cup.
The beef between the two Englishmen dates back years, with ZSJ previously calling Ospreay one of the “most incredibly talented wrestlers in the world” but at the same time, “one of the stupidest people” he had ever spoken to.
