It has now been revealed which member of the legendary Von Erich family Zac Efron will be playing in an upcoming film about their life and career.
Zac Efron and Sean Durkin are all in this together as they’ve partnered up for the upcoming film Iron Claw, as was exclusively reported by Deadline. Durkin will be writing and directing the A24 drama. Efron, meanwhile, will be starring, although his role is unknown as of yet.
Iron Claw will depict the sad story of the famed Von Erich family. Famously, Kerry, Mike, and Chris Von Erich all tragically took their own lives following the sudden passing of David Von Erich. Fritz Von Erich, who passed away from brain and lung cancer, was the promoter of the acclaimed World Class Championship Wrestling organisation in Dallas, Texas.
PWInisder has now reported that Efron – who starred in the Baywatch movie alongside The Rock – will be portraying Kevin Von Erich. The film is due to begin shooting in Louisiana from mid-October through to December.
Kevin Von Erich is the last surviving son of Fritz and was on hand to accept the family’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2009. His sons, Ross and Marshall, have continued the Von Erich legacy, having competed for Major League Wrestling and won their World Tag Team Championship.
It is also noted in the report that Kevin Von Erich and his family have no involvement in the movie whatsoever.
