The Young Bucks

According to a new report, The Young Bucks have signed new deals with AEW to extend their stay with the promotion.

Matt and Nick Jackson have been permanent fixtures in AEW since the company’s inception in January 2019. Upon signing it was announced that the brothers would serve as Executive Vice Presidents alongside Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has reported that The Young Bucks have now signed new long term contracts.

The brothers later confirmed that the new contracts will tie them to the promotion until 2024.

The Young Bucks won the AEW World Tag Team Titles AEW Full Gear in November 2020 going on to become the longest reigning champions in history. The brothers held the championships until AEW All Out in September 2021 where they were defeated by The Lucha Bros in a Cage Match, ending their reign at 302 days.

In recent months the Young Bucks have reformed The Superkliq with Adam Cole following his arrival from NXT in September.

The former champions haven’t competed since joining forces with Cole to take on The Jurassic Express and Christian at Full Gear on November 13th. At the event The Superkilq were defeated, with Jungle Boy delivering a Con-Chair-To to Cole.

During the main event clash between Kenny Omega and “Hangman” Adam Page, The Young Bucks came to ringside, it was initially believed to help Omega. However, they simply nodded to Page, leaving him free to pin Omega and claim the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.

Speaking on the episode of Being The Elite that followed, the pair said they are currently not cleared to compete.
