AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone has opened up on a match against this current Champion.
Before her AEW debut earlier this year, Mercedes Mone aka Sasha Banks enjoyed a brief run in NJPW and a long successful run in WWE. While Mone jumped promotions to AEW, former Elite wrestler Jade Cargill transitioned to a role in the Stamford-based promotion.
One-half of the Women’s tag-team champions alongside Bianca Belair, Cargill made her WWE debut at Royal Rumble 2024. While both the women are in two different promotions, Mone has opened up on the possibility of facing Cargill later.
In an interview on the Battleground Podcast, Mone shared:
You never know in wrestling. No, I never cross paths with her, but every single autograph signing that I’ve been to, before I even came to AEW, so many fans are like, ‘I hope you get to wrestle Jade, I want you to wrestle Jade.’ I’m like, alright, and then I came to [AEW], and then she went to the other place, but you never know. There’s a lot of dream matches out there in existence, so you never know in wrestling.”

Mone is currently the TBS and NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion and is in a feud against Kris Statlander.
Mercedes Mone Open For This Historic AEW Show To Take Place
During her appearance on the Battleground podcast, Mercedes Mone discussed the possibility of the historic all-women’s weekly show. She commented:
Wow, a weekly show, absolutely. We have the talent, so why not? All Elite Women’s Wrestling? There you go. We have the best women’s wrestling. From Willow, Mariah May, Toni Storm, Serena Deeb, Kris Statlander, Kamille—there’s definitely an opportunity to have an all-women’s show every single week, so I don’t see why not.”
Before switching to Tony Khan’s wrestling promotion, Mone was a part of the all-women’s WWE Evolution PPV.
