In recent months Sayara has not been afraid to make enemies in AEW and now she has gone after the fans.
The artist formerly known as Paige made her shocking debut for AEW at Grand Slam. Upon her arrival in the promotion, Saraya promised to elevate the women’s division. However, Britt Baker took offence to this and the two entered a heated feud.
They exchanged vicious words in several barbarous promos before facing off in Saraya’s first match in five years All Out.
Following the match, Saraya began attracting a negative crowd response and turned heel. She teamed up with fellow ex-WWE Superstar Toni Storm. The duo were soon at odds with the majority of the women’s locker room, as they targeted the promotion’s “homegrown talent” especially Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter and Baker.
Ruby Soho Joined Saraya At AEW Revolution
At Revolution on March 5th, Saraya and Ruby Soho challenged Hayter for the AEW Women’s Championship Three-Way-Match. Hayter retained the title but ended up losing side when Soho laid her and Baker out to align with the outsiders, thus turning heel for the first time in her AEW career.
On the March 8th edition of Dynamite, Soho participated in an in-ring interview to explain her actions. Soho blamed the fans for creating “this monster” before recalling the pivotal moments that led to her decision.
She mentioned how the fans were thrilled when she lost to Baker at Grand Slam in 2021 and later in the finals of the first Owen Hart Cup.
She then again stated it was the fans who turned their backs on all of “the outsiders,” and now she’s got a vendetta against the homegrown talent. Following the promo, the heel trio beat down Sky Blue before Willow Nightengale made the save.
After the show, the leader of the trio doubled down on their assault against the AEW audience. In an aggressive social media post she didn’t hold back when addressing the AEW fans about her recent actions.
