AEW has been hit by yet another injury, with Mark Davis sidelined following a setback during the 26 March episode of Dynamite.
According to Fightful Select, Davis sustained the injury in his match against Powerhouse Hobbs, forcing the contest to end earlier than planned. The report noted:
“The injury bug has bitten AEW, unfortunately. Fightful Select reported this week that Orange Cassidy and Switchblade Jay White both sustained legitimate injuries. Unfortunately, it hasn’t ended there.
Fightful Select has learned that Mark Davis sustained an injury during his match with Hobbs last week, which was brought to an end earlier than it was supposed to.
We’ve not heard any particulars, details or a timeline on the injury. Sources in AEW we spoke to felt horrible for Davis, noting how hard he worked to return from injury.”
Davis, a former ROH and IWGP Tag Team Champion, had only recently returned from a wrist injury suffered at the 2023 WrestleDream pay-per-view on 20 November 2024. He managed just 12 matches before this latest setback.
AEW has been struggling with injuries, with top names like Orange Cassidy and Jay White also dealing with legitimate issues. No official update has been provided on Davis’ condition or his expected recovery timeline.
What Injury Did AEW’s Jay White Suffer Recently?
Dave Meltzer reported that Jay White suffered a legitimate broken hand, and the severity of the injury requires surgery to repair the damage. White was written out in a storyline attack by The Death Riders on the April 2 episode of Dynamite, ruling him out of the upcoming Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
