Xavier Woods has returned to WWE television after missing more two months through injury.

New Day star Xavier Woods had been out of action since the January 7th episode of Friday Night SmackDown. On the show, WWE’s resident King teamed with Kofi Kingston to take on The Usos in a Street Fight with SmackDown Tag Team gold on the line.

During the match, Woods attempted hit a DDT on Jey Uso from outside the ring back in. However, the current King of the Ring later revealed that he picked up an injury in the process. Appearing on G4’s Attack of the Show on January 13th, he explained that he would be out of action for between four to six weeks as a result of a torn plantaris. The muscle situated underneath the calf.

After returning to action on March 12th in tag team action at a WWE live event, and wrestling at two further events, Woods has finally returned to SmackDown.

On March 25th episode of the blue brand, Kofi Kingston had been due to take on Ridge Holland, however, things weren’t quite that straightforward. On his way to the ring, Kingston announced that Holland would be competing against a member of the New Day but it wouldn’t be him, instead introducing Xavier Woods.

The 2021 King of the Ring made a winning return, pinning Holland in two minutes.

The third member of the New Day, Big E is currently out of action with a broken neck. Posting on social media in the wake of the injury, the former World Champion revealed that he had been informed by doctors that he “narrowly escaped a stroke, paralysis or death.”
