Xavier Woods Reflects On SmackDown Loss – “I Don’t Know If I Get That Shot Again”

Gunther & Xavier Woods on SmackDown

Xavier Woods has admitted that his future is uncertain following a crushing loss to Gunther on SmackDown.

The former King of the Ring headed into the match full of optimism and at the top of his game, but it wasn’t enough. While he pushed Gunther hard during the match, it was the dominant champion who emerged victorious.

Speaking in a WWE Digital Exclusive after the defeat, Woods was in a reflective mood and questioned whether he will ever get a chance to challenge for the Intercontinental Title again.

“This was my shot. I hadn’t had a shot at the Intercontinental Championship since I’d been here. I got here in 2010. It’s 2023. I had one shot at Gunther, I had one shot to become champion, and I failed, and I didn’t do it. I have no Kofi here, I have no [Big] E here. We’re all about the power of positivity, but it’s not always easy. I don’t know what to do next, besides move forward. What is moving forward? I have no idea.

But shots like this for me, specifically guys like me, come once in a career apparently. So I don’t know if I’ll ever get a shot at that again. So yes, Gunther won. Yes, Gunther is the Intercontinental Champion. I am not. So we go to work,”

Xavier Woods Set For Reunion With Big E And Kofi Kingston?

Although Xavier Woods is currently without his partners in the New Day, a new report has suggested that a reunion could be on the horizon. Big E has been out of action since March 2022 due to a broken neck but has recently undergone scans that could determine his future.

With this in mind, it has been reported that a pitch has been made for the New Day to get back together to take on Imperium, with the central feud being between Big E and Gunther.
