Xavier Woods recently performed a musical rendition of Mickie James’ iconic theme music, sharing the performance with wrestling legend and the WWE Universe via social media.

The former WWE Tag Team Champion has been trying his hand at a new musical skill and talent since February earlier in the year. Woods, who fans will be familiar with for his incredible Trombone abilities, has been sharing his Bass learning progress with fans via his social media over the past two months.

During that time fans have been treated to delightful renditions of The Isley Brothers, Steve Austin’s ‘Hell Frozen Over’ and now Mickie James’ iconic theme song ‘Obsession’.

The Women’s Wrestling legend would take to her social media to react to the performance stating: “This is everything”.

Viewers of WWE’s flagship programming Monday Night RAW may be familiar with Woods’ bass following his match against Elias on last weeks episode of RAW. During the show, Woods would accompany his tag team partner Kofi Kingston to the ring playing a rendition of The New Day’s theme music during their entrance before assisting Kofi Kingston’s in-ring work by performing various WWE theme songs at ringside.

Mickie James was released by the WWE in April as part of a group of ten plus performers let go in ‘budget-saving measures’, the former Women’s Champion took to social media on April 22nd sharing a photo of her belongs sent to her home by the WWE. The photo showed a damaged cardboard box filled with a singular black binbag labelled ‘Mickie’

Dear @VinceMcMahon Im not sure if you’re aware, I did receive my @WWE care package today. Thank you. #AlwaysBlessedandGrateful#WomensWrestlingMatters 💋 pic.twitter.com/PyDC7ZC9lG

The social media post quickly caught WWE’s attention with both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon stating their shock at the treatment of a beloved employee such as James with Stephanie stating:

Mickie James, I am embarrassed you or anyone else would be treated this way. I apologize personally and on behalf of WWE, the person responsible is no longer with our company.

Following James’ post, WWE made a series of backstage employment altercations including the release of long time employee Mark Carrano -however, it is unclear at this time as to whether there is any correlation.

James would make her final statement on the issue stating that although she would have been angrier 10 years ago when she first arrived she has grown as a performer and individual since then, adding that if her final mark in the business is leaving it a better place than she entered it then she has achieved what she set out to do.

Mickie James would state however she never intended to cost anyone their job adding she considers Carrano a friend.
