Xavier Woods believes one of the biggest matches at WrestleMania 40 will give fans the result they want.
As the biggest event on the WWE calendar draws nearer, more matches are being confirmed and more questions about the show are being answered. While all the top stars have been confirmed for appearances at the show, one question will not be answered until the end of night 2; will Cody Rhodes finish the story?
Following on from the loss in So-Fi Stadium and Rhodes spending the best part of a year fighting his way back to the top of the card, many are hopeful that Roman Reigns’ time as Undisputed Champion will come to an end after more than 1,300 days. However, as history has shown, anything can happen in WWE and there are no guarantees that The American Nightmare will finally win the big one. According to Woods, Rhodes dethroning Reigns is inevitable.
Speaking with WWE Die Woche, Woods believes that Rhodes will be victorious in Philadelphia and is optimistic for the future with a full-time Undisputed Champion in the company:
“No. There is no way he gets through WrestleMania with that championship. If he does, I don’t know, I can’t say anything just in case he does, but I fully believe he’ll no longer be champion after WrestleMania 40. Then I feel we might just have a champion who shows up and defends the title a little more. Then maybe people will have a shot at winning the Universal Championship.”
Will Xavier Woods Compete At WrestleMania?
As announced by General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis, Finn Balor and Damian Priest will defend the Undisputed Tag Team Championships in a six-pack ladder match at WrestleMania 40. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston are one of the teams who have qualified for the match along with The Awesome Truth and #DIY. Two more teams are yet to qualify.
In a previous interview, Big E stated that he wanted to see Xavier Woods join himself and Kofi Kingston as a WWE Champion.
H/t to Fightful.
