Xavier Woods has seen a long-running streak come to an end following the events that took place on the July 22nd episode of WWE Raw.
July 21st 2024 marked an important date for Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston in the wrestling world as The New Day celebrated a decade since the group was first formed. With many championship successes and showing virtually no signs of dissension over the past 10 years, the faction will go down as one of the greatest of all time when all is said and done as all 3 have found individual success on top of their work collectively.
While Woods has battled alongside The New Day countless times, his match on the recent episode of Raw saw the former King of the Ring team with Otis and Akira Tozawa in a losing effort to The Final Testament. As noted by social media account WWE Stats, this was the first time since 2014 that Woods has competed in a tag team match that has not seen Big E and/or Kofi Kingston as partners. The last time that Woods did not team up with The New Day was during an episode of Main Event in 2014, which saw the former Tag Team Champion partner up with R-Truth.
Calls For Xavier Woods To Become Future World Champion
While Kofi Kingston’s WrestleMania 35 triumph and Big E’s successful cash-in were amazing moments for the fans and The New Day, many want to see Woods receive his own reign as a future World Champion. Speaking in a previous interview, Big E showed his support for a Xavier Woods world title run.
