After Sami Zayn tweeted about a match he had pitched for SummerSlam 2019, X-Pac responded by teasing a potential return to the WWE.
Sami Zayn faced the 1-2-3 Kid under the name ‘El Generico’ in the 2011 Rey de Voladores Finals at Chikara King Of Trios Night Three event. Zayn shared a clip of the match, explaining that he pitched the idea of facing him at SummerSlam 2019.
“I asked if I could wrestle him at SummerSlam two years ago. @TheRealXPac, that is. Not the other guy.”

X-Pac commented on the situation, addressing that he had a few health and injury issues at the time. Ultimately, Sami Zayn didn’t appear on the card of that year’s SummerSlam. However, X-Pac followed by mentioning his desire to go through with the match at the next edition of the event!
“I had a few health/injury issues that needed addressing at that time. Now that I’ve taken care of them, there’s always next #SummerSlam…if that’s something people want to see. #wwe”
