WWE’s Omos Relinquishes Pro Wrestling NOAH Championship

Omos makes his entrance at WWE Crown Jewel 2022

WWE star Omos has relinquished a Pro Wrestling NOAH championship just weeks after winning it.

The 30-year-old made his surprise debut in the Japanese promotion earlier this month and immediately made an impact by capturing the GHC Tag Team Championship alongside Jack Morris. This marked his first match since competing in the 2024 Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal nine months prior.

Over the last few weeks, Omos has remained in Japan, maintaining an undefeated streak across a series of tag team and handicap matches. His latest bout, his first defence of his title, went no differently but featured a very unexpected moment afterwards.

Taking to the microphone following his victory, Omos announced that he is returning to WWE and is, therefore, relinquishing his half of the GHC Tag Team Championship. He then handed the title to fellow Team 2000X member Daga and promised to return to NOAH, though he admitted he’s unsure when that’ll be possible.

I’m going back to WWE so I’ll give this belt to Daga. Please increase the value of this belt. The champs are now Jack Morris & Daga. I don’t know when but I’ll come back.

With the 2025 Royal Rumble just around the corner, some fans are already predicting that The Nigerian Giant will return at the Premium Live Event. As things stand, however, there’s no official or reported word on when he’s expected back in the company.

Omos Hit Out At Claim WWE Had ‘Given Up’ On Him

During his WWE hiatus throughout most of last year, a report emerged that implied the company had given up on Omos due to his absence from both house shows and TV since April 2024. Omos himself later responded to the claim, likening it to tabloid gossip.
