Becky Lynch returned to Raw for the first time in weeks with revenge on her mind.
Lynch had been missing from the show since being attacked by Trish Stratus on the April 10th edition. Stratus issued the beatdown after the pair lost the Women’s Tag Team Championships to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
On this week’s Raw, Stratus was handing out missing posters for Lynch. Then, during a promo in which she trolled the crowd with Lynch’s music, took jabs at her daughter, and put over her own greatness, the Hall of Famer was finally interrupted by the former Raw Women’s Champion.
Lynch got a few shots in before Stratus escaped the ring and ran back up the ramp. A fired-up Lynch grabbed a microphone and said that if Stratus needed to find her, she was right there.
Vince Russo criticises WWE Raw segment for being “lazy”
Onetime WWE writer Vince Russo has given his take on the segment during a recent edition of Legion of Raw, saying Lynch should have gone after Stratus.
“So Becky comes out and gets a little heat, Trish powders and the imaginary wall of China surrounding the ring keep Becky from going up. Ed [Ferrara] and I would simply look at each other and say, ‘Why wouldn’t Becky go after Trish?’ and Ed would say, ‘She would go after Trish.'”
Russo went on to discuss how he would have written the segment.
“So then, Becky would go after Trish, she’d get heat on Trish in the aisle, and whether we got to sell agents or refs to pull it apart, why would Becky stand in the ring, yelling at Trish to come in the ring, come in the ring… rather than go and get her on the outside. That’s the lazy wrestling… BS c**p that I can’t stand.”
Later in the night, Lynch posted a video on social media showing her going after the backstage crew for her music being cut off early.
