WWE have announced that WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler will defend their titles against Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair at WWE Fastlane.
The contest will be a rematch from WWE Elimination Chamber in January where the champions Jax and Baszler retained via an inadvertent helping hand from Reginald who is infatuated with ‘The Boss.’
Adding a healthy dose of intrigue into the mix is the rivalry between Banks and her partner Belair. The EST of WWE won the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble match and has chosen to face Banks at WrestleMania 37 for her SmackDown Women’s Championship.

The meeting between Banks and Belair at WrestleMania will mark the first time that two African-American women have headlined the show in the events long and illustrious history. Following making the decision to take on Banks, Belair commented that she was blessed to be in her position before adding that the match is “going to be representation and is going to influence people positively in their life.”
‘The Boss’ is of course no stranger to tag team success having enjoyed two previous runs with the Women’s Tag Team titles alongside Bayley.
Current champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler originally won the belts from Banks and Bayley and WWE Payback in August 2020. They briefly lost the belts to the team of Asuka and the returning Charlotte Flair, before regaining them at the 2021 Royal Rumble.
WWE Fastlane is set to take place on Sunday March 21st where it will be streamed live on the WWE Network.
