11 August 2022 marks the 69th birthday of two-time WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, with plenty of happy birthday messages – and a trademark Iron Sheik comment – pouring in!

Happy birthday to ‘The Hulkster’, who celebrates his 69th birthday today. Hulk Hogan was born Terry Eugene Bollea on 11 August 1953, but nobody could have imagined the life that he would embark on.

As he celebrates being just one year away from the big 70, the multi-time World Champion has been inundated with messages wishing him a happy birthday, including from WWE:

The Iron Sheik, who Hulk Hogan defeated for his first WWE Championship in January 1984, has also commented. Sheik has famously told Hogan to “go f*ck himself”; not even his birthday could stop him from getting a dig in:

Lex Luger quote-tweeted WWE’s initial tweet, wishing his former rival – and, in essence, his WWE predecessor – a happy birthday. ‘Marvelous’ Marc Mero, who found more success post-wrestling than he did in it, has sent a message to Hulk Hogan, thanking him for their friendship:

Outside of a minor run between 1979 and 1980, Hulk Hogan initially wrestled for WWE for a decade, amassing five reigns as WWE Champion during this time. Subsequent runs in WCW, again in WWE, and IMPACT Wrestling, saw mixed results for Hogan, who’d become the biggest star in wrestling history by that point.

Though he found great success in the squared circle, Hogan was no stranger to scandals outwith it as well. Numerous lawsuits have involved Hulk Hogan, while a 2015 leaked sex tape showed him being repeatedly racist. This led to his temporary removal from the WWE Hall of Fame, returning in 2018.
