WWE Wants Surprising NXT Star To Main Event WrestleMania

A new report has suggested that WWE might have lofty plans for one NXT Superstar.

Von Wagner wrestled his first match in WWE at an NXT live event in May 2019 under his real name Cal Bloom. After appearing on SmackDown and Main Event in 2020, the would-be star debuted on NXT television as Von Wagner on the FIRST episode of NXT 2.0 in September 2021.

Since then, Wager has been a stereotypical monster heel but it seems that his character could be shifting.

On the April 11th episode of NXT, Wagner lost a match against Ilja Dragunov with the stipulation that if he was defeated his manager Mr. Stone would leave his side. However, a week later Wagner begged Stone not to leave him pointing to his heritage as a second-generation wrestler. His father, Wayne Bloom performed as one-half of the Beverley Brothers in WWE between 1991 and 1993 while also enjoying spells in WCW and the AWA.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE has plans for Von Wager should everything play out as hoped.

“He’s tall, he’s got blond hair, they want him to main event WrestleMania, but you need charisma to get to that level.”

Tyler Bate Reportedly Heading For WWE’s Main Roster

Another NXT star who could be set for big things is Tyler Bate. The Dudley-born British star has long been earmarked as a star of the future and it appears his shot at the big time could be approaching. It has been reported that after a strong showing in a match against Dolph Ziggler, Bate could be heading to the main roster in the upcoming Draft.
