WWE has several big events on the horizon as John Cena’s final summer as an active superstar comes to an end. New details on creative plans and upcoming matches have been revealed now that SummerSlam has been wrapped up.
Triple H and Shawn Michaels have two big premium live events coming up during the final week of the month. A week before WWE’s Chief Content Officer takes the RAW and SmackDown rosters to France for Clash in Paris, the company’s Senior Vice President of Talent Development will take NXT and TNA stars to Lowell, Massachusetts, for Heatwave IV.
The night after next week’s RAW airs from Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, NXT will present its Heatwave go-home episode from The Met, also The City of Brotherly Love. The historic American city will see WWE’s latest USA vs. Canada storyline continue with a Peace Treaty segment. Chelsea Green and NXT North American Champion Ethan Page will represent Canada for the in-ring meeting with Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steele. This week’s edition of the black and silver brand saw The Olympians get the best of Green, Page, and The Secret Hervice as Steele was revealed to be Heights’ partner for a Mixed Tag Team Match that was recently set up.
A big WWE vs. TNA Six-Woman Tag Team Match was also announced for NXT’s return to the road. Next Tuesday’s show will see The Ash Brand’s Ash By Elegance, Heather By Elegance, and M By Elegance lock up with current NXT Women’s Champion and TNA Knockouts World Champion Jacy Jayne, and her Fatal Influence stablemates Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx.
The Six-Woman Tag Team Match was made after a championship Triple Threat for Heatwave was announced. The WWE vs. TNA bout will see dual champion Jayne defend her TNA title against Masha Slamovich and Ash, the former Dana Brooke. - Philly Street Fight: Yoshiki Inamura vs. Josh Briggs;
- TNA World Champion Trick Williams vs. Je’Von Evans to determine the Heatwave opponent for NXT Champion Oba Femi;
- Blake Monroe and Jordynne Grace will face-off in the ring;
- Ethan Page and The Green Regime meet with Tyra Mae Steele and Tavion Heights in a Peace Treaty Summit.
WWE Heatwave Updated Lineup
WWE will present its fourth annual Heatwave PLE for the NXT brand on Sunday, August 24, from the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Massachusetts. This will be the first Heatwave event to be billed with just the WWE logo, and not NXT-specific branding.
Jacy Jayne is 78 days into her NXT Women’s Championship reign and 24 days into her reign as TNA Knockouts World Champion. It was announced this week that Jayne will make her third defense of the TNA title at Heatwave, in a Triple Threat against Ash By Elegance fka Dana Brooke and Masha Slamovich. Both women had recent title shots on TNA Impact, but interfered to cost the other their matches.
The Lady of Rock & Rumble will also find out the next challenger to her NXT title at Heatwave. Lola Vice, Kelani Jordan, and Jaida Parker will do battle in a Triple Threat to determine the new #1 contender. Below is the updated lineup for Heatwave 2025:
