Roman Reigns is one of the most popular stars in professional wrestling today. Despite this, there is one veteran who thinks he is “one-dimensional”.
Over the past 910 days, Reigns has dominated the landscape of WWE as the Universal Champion. On top of this, it has been almost a full year since he unified that title with the WWE Championship by defeating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38.
He has also been the antagonist of one of the most well-received storylines of the modern era, welcoming Sami Zayn into The Bloodline family and then accusing him of betrayal. This led to him issuing a test of loyalty at the Royal Rumble, ordering Zayn to attack his friend Kevin Owens with a chair. When Zayn refused and hit the Tribal Chief instead, The Bloodline assaulted him with Reigns laying in the final blows and leaving him unconscious in the middle of the ring.
At Elimination Chamber, Reigns broke the hearts of fans everywhere by preventing Zayn from getting his fairytale ending. With a little help from Jimmy Uso and a chair, Reigns retained his title once again.
Despite these accomplishments, former WWE Head Writer Vince Russo believes Reigns to be “one-dimensional” and thinks another man deserves the title of top heel in pro wrestling.
Vince Russo names who he believes to be the top heel over Roman Reigns
Speaking on Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge, the former writer explained that while he’s a “huge fan” of Reigns, he thinks AEW World MJF is a better heel as he has more range than the Head of The Table.
“And Roman, bro, I’m a huge fan of Roman Reigns, but he really is one-dimensional. There’s not too much range there. MJF has range.”
After a year that saw him finally achieving his goal of reaching the pinnacle of AEW, Friedman will defend his title for only the second time at Revolution, where he will take on Bryan Danielson.
