WWE legend Kurt Angle has come a long from his addiction days.
Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has enjoyed one of the most illustrative wrestling careers of all time. From his Olympic gold medal victory to enjoying successful runs at various pro-wrestling promotions, Angle is arguably one of the greatest of all time.
However, despite a glorious career, Angle has had his share of ups and downs. Previously known to have suffered and recovered from painkiller addiction, WWE veteran Vince Russo recently opened up on watching Angle during his recovery road.
In a recent episode of Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Outlaws, Russo reflected on a recovering Angle violently shaking during his initial TNA interview. Russo shared:
When he [Kurt Angle] first came to TNA, I remember sitting down with him, and I produced his very first interview. Chris, I never saw this with anybody I had ever worked with before. Bro, the whole interview, he was [shaking], and it was withdrawal. He was trying to get off the stuff, and I mean the whole interview. And man, to see it like you can’t imagine that battle, like, ‘Oh my God.’ But, thank God, man. I mean, he found his way through because he’s such a good man and good individual, and I just thank God.”

Now sober and doing better, Angle is a 2017 Hall of Fame inductee and had his last wrestling match against Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35 in 2019.
