Ever since returning to WWE in October 2022, Bray Wyatt has been a divisive figure.
The star came back to a huge ovation at Extreme Rules and has been building a new mythology around himself and the mysterious Uncle Howdy. While there are many who are still happy to see Wyatt back, others have criticised his lack of actual matches and the overly cryptic nature of some of his promos.
Most recently, the star has begun a rivalry with Bobby Lashley which has seen him bring back the Firefly Fun House and doing the ‘Muscle Man Dance’ in an apparent effort to get inside The All Mighty’s head.
Now, Dutch Mantell has given his thoughts on Wyatt since he came back to the company. On the latest edition of Smack Talk, the wrestling veteran found the Firefly Fun House “embarrassing to watch” and asked, “what the hell are they doing?”
“We’ve talked about Bray [Wyatt]. To me right now, he’s hitting a zero. He started out with a lot of promise and a lot of thoughts about him and where he could go. Now you’re watching them thinking, ‘What the hell are they doing?’
“That Firefly Funhouse, it’s almost embarrassing to watch it, I don’t know how that has anything to do with wrestling. Kids might like it, and Bray may even be good at selling merchandise.
“But as far as selling tickets, if that was your main event, you’d have half a house. I don’t think anybody would be interested in seeing Bray and Brock.”
Brock Lesnar turned down match with Bray Wyatt
While Bray Wyatt is set to take on Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 39, other plans for The Eater Of Worlds would have seen him go face-to-face with Brock Lesnar.
A recent report from Fightful Select revealed that Wyatt was one of several names pitched for The Conqueror on The Grandest Stage Of Them All, with the plan being discussed as recently as Elimination Chamber.
In the end, Lesnar’s opponent was revealed to be The Nigerian Giant, Omos.
