WWE veteran Dave Batista has a big upcoming project.
Dave Bautista, better known as Batista during his tenure with WWE, dedicated himself to the promotion as a full-time wrestler from 2002 through 2010. A subsequent return in 2014 saw him claim victory at the Royal Rumble. However, despite the victory and the push, he left the promotion that year before making several sporadic returns in the future.
Away from professional wrestling for several years now, the former World Champion has established himself as one of the most popular names in the entertainment industry, thanks to his action-film roles and stint as Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Recently, ahead of several of his upcoming projects, ‘The Animal’ has now been reported to be a part of an upcoming video game and animation project.
As per PWInsider and Deadline, Dave Bautista’s Dogbone Entertainment is set to team up with Titan1Studios to develop Cat Assassin by Steve Lerner(known for Stray and Twelve Minutes) into a franchise spanning animated series, video games, and publishing initiatives.
Titan1Studios is a highly popular video game and entertainment studio renowned for its successful titles, including Welcome: A Cozy Estuary, Love is a Roguelite, Breaking Point, Pacific General, and many more.
Set in a grim, neo-noir world populated by anthropomorphic cats, ‘Cat Assassin’ follows Hugh, a highly proficient assassin navigating the complex power dynamics of competing cartels within a corrupt metropolis. Batista is set to have creative input in the franchise. The upcoming game is said to have drawn inspiration from Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell, Sifu, and Stray and hopes to deliver agile combat, tactical gameplay, and narrative depth.
More detailed information on the animated series, feature film, and video game is set to be revealed in the coming months.
Dave Batista Discusses The Harder Grind Between WWE And Hollywood
Recently, while promoting his upcoming film ‘In the Lost Land’ with Film Inside, wrestling veteran Batista opened up on the grind between WWE and Hollywood. Comparing the two, he said,
“I have a strong work ethic, and my work ethic really came from the WWE, if nothing else, they’re not only durable people, but it’s just the hardest grind that I could ever imagine. Being in Hollywood and being on a film set, it’s long hours, but compared to the grind of being a professional wrestler, it’s just a cakewalk. I mean, it’s night and day. I’m in this business, and I find it hard to relate to people who are just always unhappy on set and always complaining about something. I don’t relate to that at all. So that’s it.”
